Fire Protection Assessments
A fire protection assessment is a formal, documented evaluation of a building's fire protection features and systems as well as an evaluation of the building’s compliance with applicable codes and standards.
This assessment involves inspecting and analyzing fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, emergency exits, evacuation plans, life safety analysis, and fire resistance of materials used in construction.
An assessment can also be requested for a documented fire protection program.
The purpose of a fire protection assessment is to identify potential fire hazards, assess the effectiveness of existing fire protection measures, and recommend improvements or additional measures to enhance fire safety in a building.
The assessment consists of documentation review, interviews, and walkdowns of the site, and the resulting report includes topics such as noteworthy practices, issues of concern, findings, and opportunities for improvement.
